Windows Phone users can now update their phone from PC

Microsoft has released a new tool for the Windows phone users that will let them install updates on their phone from PC,The Over-the-cable updater for Windows phones is an Over-the-cable (OTC) update solution built to help Windows phone users update their devices to the latest version of Windows as per their device’s Compatibility,without requiring the devices to be connected to Windows Update (WU) to scan or download updates.

This tool can be run by double-clicking or via the command line, Update payloads are downloaded to the PC and are portable, meaning the payloads can be copied to other PCs for later use,However, all PCs running the OTC updater must be able to connect to Windows Update to download payloads.

In order to use this tool,users just need to download it from the link below,extract the downloaded files to a folder and then run the program,Connect your Phone to PC via the data cable,turn the phone to Flight mode,and unlock it.

Requirements:- device must be able to connect to a PC via USB – device with PIN lock must be unlocked before using the OTC Updater – device must be in Airplane mode before using the OTC Updater – PC running a supported Windows client OS with latest service pack installed – PC must have a minimum of .NET 4.0 installed – PC must have Internet connectivity and be able to connect to WU
